Global Association of Radiological Technologists of Indian Origin – GARTIO, is the umbrella organization and common platform of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists of Indian Origin working across the globe. India is the second largest country in the world in terms of population and fifth biggest economy. The world’s largest democracy is also the largest producer of skilled manpower and professionals in many sectors including Engineering & Technology, Healthcare, Law and Management. Apart from doctors and nurses, a large number of other professionals from India are also working in the healthcare sector across the globe. These professionals are commonly known as Allied Health Professionals or AHPs.
Radiological Technologists are the pioneers among AHPs and play a vital role in healthcare delivery by connecting the technological innovation with clinical medicine. Radiolological Technologist is a common term used to denote Radiographers / Medical Radiology & Imaging Technologists including Cathlab Technologists , Radiation Therapy Technologists or Radiation Therapists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists etc.
Indian Origin Radiological Technologists are practcing at various parts of the world with high academic and professional standards and good achievements in career. They are working in diagnostic Radiology, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and in Interventional Radiology including Cardiac Cathlabs. As an Umbrella Organization of Indian Origin Radiographers, GARTIO will co ordinate and connect all Indian Origin Radiological Technologists beyond the borders and continents.
GARTIO stands for the welfare of Indian Origin Technologists by ensuring better oppurtunities and career progression and sustainable Professional Development through all possible ways. GARTIO also promots better networking among Radiographers of Indian Origin and boost the socio – cultural relations among Indian RTs irrespective of caste, creed, region and releigion and language.
As a large country, India is having geographical, linguistic and cultural diversity. Despite all these differences, Indian Radiographers are well united in our parent country. All Indian Origin Radiographers working abroad and across the globe are more and more connected through GARTIO and promoting mutually to uphold the professional dignity, integrity and Indian Origin identity.
GARTIO plays a pivotal role among all Indian Origin Radiographers and Radiological Technologists to achieve the espirit de corps of Indian Radiological Technologists’ community by acting as apex professional body of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists of Indian Origin working across the globe.
